Mattia and his parents were so kind and welcoming, and the apartment was spacious and spotless, with charming decor and... read more top-notch amenities (beautiful dishware, brand new appliances, lovely bath products). On arrival, we were greeted with a generous, thoughtful, and unexpected assortment of fresh fruits, sweets, coffee and tea, and a refrigerator stocked with fresh milk, pasta, pesto, and salad so that we could dine in if we chose and so that our morning coffee needs were covered. The linens were lovely, the towels fluffy, and the outdoor patios were a perfect spot for morning coffee or evening wine. Brienno itself is absolutely charming, and the more we traveled around, the more we appreciated the incredible views from our apartment and the peace and quiet of the little town. Don't miss the local pizzeria or exploring the labyrinth. I plan to come back to Como with my family and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else!

  We found Mattia's home and neighborhood to be the relaxing getaway we hoped for at Lake Como. We were greeted by Mattia's kind parents who helped us with luggage... read more up the stairs, gave a tour of their charming home, and welcomed us with a gift of wonderful fresh fruit, eggs and delightful local Italian treats that we snacked on during our stay. While the stairs are a climb, we enjoyed the strength it built in our legs and the view is 1000% worth it! The garden is just beautiful and fragrant. We spent our evenings on the patio playing family games, drinking vino rosso and enjoying the gorgeous lake views. Brienno is close enough to the larger towns to get to quickly for day trips, but a far enough from the summer tourists hustle and bustle. We preferred this location. Grazie Mille!

The host went out of... read more their way to enhance our stay. The welcome hamper is far beyond anything I’ve had before at an Airbnb, with delicious local produce.
My wife got an infected insect bite, and the next morning Mattia’s parents arrived with repellent, cream for the bite….and a box of pastries!!
The views from all the windows and the relaxing garden are spectacular.
Brienno itself is small with no shop, but the pizza restaurant, small bar and large terrace bar are all excellent and authentic.
It’s a shame the Brienno ferry stop is no longer running, but the buses are semi-regular if you don’t have a car.
We have already recommended this place to friends and would definitely use again if returning to beautiful Como

It was as beautiful as it looks in the pictures, but what really made this a stand out stay was how accommodating and generous Mattia and his family had been. They had left us milk, a few things to put a lovely lunch together, breads, a bottle of wine, things for breakfast, and a home made tart! They are the best air bnb hosts I have ever had - friendly, informative and accommodating. Brienno itself was a beautiful and authentic small town, with loads of swimming places, an amazing pizza restaurant and a fab terraced bar by the water. Close enough to the big towns to be convenient but small enough to be away from crowds and really feel immersed in the Italian experience. Couldn’t recommend enough!!
